New artist displaying at Garbos hair Southsea art space

ARTIST STATEMENT:

"This piece is part of a series of illustrative paintings telling the story of the history of tea. In the 17th century, tea was traded and brought from Asia into Europe by the way of Venice, by the famous tea clipper ships and the East India Company. Only the richest could afford to drink this new, exotic beverage, and so smuggling became rife: transit on the ocean waves became tangled up in Elizabethan aristocracy".
